Without a doubt, one of the cornerstones of the science fiction genre is Frank Herbert's Dune. Often considered impossible to adapt to the silver screen, the novel was still adapted for theater twice. And the foundational work recently teamed up with another popular sci-fi franchise, Gundunda, to produce a stunning new poster for their 2024 feature, Dune: Part Two and Mobile Suit Gun Seed FREEDOM.

The collaboration debuted on both Gundam Seed and Japanese Dune Twitter accounts on March 14 Both accounts feature the Gun Seed collaboration poster and the Japanese poster for Dune: Part Two from which the earned poster was inspired. The Dune poster features main characters Paul Atreides (Timothée Chalamet) and his lover Chani (Zendaya) possibly heading towards battle, or more likely their destiny, with the sun as a backdrop. Gun Seed's poster replaces the duo with gundam Seed protagonist Kira Yamato, his love interest Lacus Clyne, and two pet robot birds. However, the homepage notes that fans should take interest in the “Seed” logo design because it uses the font style used for promotional material for Dune: Part Two.
Fans can enter art for both posters. These posters are significantly smaller than standard movie posters at B2 size (approximately 19.7 x 27.8 inches), but are handsome display pieces nonetheless. The drawing takes place from March 14 to March 28 at 23:59. Japan time (10:59 a.m. EDT). Fans can sign up by following both Dune (Japan) and Gun Seed's official X (formerly Twitter) account and retweeting the posts. Unfortunately, you must reside in Japan and your X/Twitter account must be public to win a poster. (The Japanese Dune account is running the promotion, not the English account.)
