With a month to go until the release of Gun: Requiem for Vengeance, Netflix has released the opening scene of the 3DCG series to whet the appetites of Universal Century fans.
The clip depicts a Federation ambush on advancing Zeon forces in Romania, 11 months after the start of the “Revolutionary War.” It’s mostly a tank vs. infantry affair, until Zeon unleashes their iconic Zaku mobile suit to turn the tide. However, the clip ends before we get to see Zakus do any damage.

Gundam: Requiem for Vengeance will premiere on Netflix on October 17. The official synopsis reads:
In the year 0079 of the Cosmic Century, the Principality of Zeon declares independence from the Earth Federation, plunging the two nations into war. Thanks to a revolutionary new weapon called the Mobile Suit, the Zeon Forces initially gain the upper hand. However, they lack the power to control the entire Earth, causing the war to reach a stalemate.
Eleven months after the war, Earth Federation forces captured a Zeon-controlled base in Eastern Europe. Among the combined battalion working to retake the base were Sorari and the Red Wolves division, a platoon of Mobile Suits recently landed from space.
The series was produced using Unreal Engine 5 and features Celia Massingham (Hedy Lamarr in DC's Legends of Tomorrow) provides voice and motion capture performance for the title character.
