Voice actors (Seiyuu) are people who play a very important role for a movie in general and anime in particular. They “act” with their voices behind the screen to bring life to the characters.
There are many successful and extremely famous voice actors who have become admirers of everyone. The case of Masako Nozawa is an example. She was born on October 25, 1936, and is now nearly 90 years old.
During the first decades of her career, she primarily voiced male characters. As a result, she was nicknamed “The Eternal Boy” by fans.

When the Dragon Ball anime was released, she was chosen by author Akira Toriyama to be the Seiyuu for the character Son Goku. Masako Nozawa also voices other characters in Dragon Ball: Gohan, Goten, Black Goku, Turles, Bardock. In addition, she has voiced many, many movies, anime, games, radio, live-action,… in about 50 years of her career.
Now, Masako Nozawa has even given her voice to AI (artificial intelligence) to use even after her death, by collaborating with Coemo.
In Japan, Coemo is a speaker that reads stories to users, it uses the latest AI technology to synthesize the voices of many people. Coemo then uses that voice to read stories, cultivating listeners’ listening skills and imagination with video-free narration. It currently includes 60 pieces of content such as stories and songs, with more content planned for sale in the future.
Before this information, fans commented: “One of the saddest news I heard today is that Masako Nozawa, Goku’s voice actor, gave his voice to AI to use after her death.”
