As the end of the Jujutsu Kaisen manga approached, a popularity poll was held.
The results of the fourth popularity poll have been announced in the new issue of Weekly Shonen Jump. Back in June, we learned the first three winners of the poll, thanks to a well-known leaker. Gojo took the #1 spot for the first time among Jujutsu Kaisen's favorite characters, after placing second or third in previous polls. Not only that, but he also received an overwhelming 113,392 votes, far surpassing the next places.
Gojo is the most popular character in the series and for good reason, given his performance. The other two top 3 spots are Yuji with 48,131 votes and Megumi with 28,502 votes.
However, there was one spot in the top 10 that completely confused fans. Naoya Zenin came in fifth place with 11,731 votes, behind Geto in fourth place.
This means he ranks higher than some of the most popular characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, namely Choso, Yuta, Nanami, Sukuna, and Toji.

Naoya is the heir to the Zenin family and the main antagonist in Maki's storyline. However, it's not his villainous nature that shocked fans due to his high ranking, but his personality. Naoya is a misogynistic elitist who looks down on Maki and Mai because they are women and were born with little to no cursed energy.
After being defeated by Maki in the Perfect Preparation arc, he died with hatred in his mind for being defeated by a woman. This led to him being reincarnated as a cursed spirit filled with hatred, and was finished off by Maki once again.
So there was no reason for this character to get so many votes. But somehow Naoya did it, leaving the Jujutsu Kaisen fan community extremely confused.
Someone pointed out: “Naoya is 5th while Maki is not in the top 10 and neither is Nobara…”.
“Why is Naoya taller than Sukuna and Nanami? And I don't understand why anyone would vote for Naoya over Toji.”another expressed.
While the popularity poll results have left fans scratching their heads, Jujutsu Kaisen chapter 267 has brought a beloved character back from the dead.
