GKIDS joins the highly anticipated anime adaptation of Shonen Jump's DAN DA DAN, officially announcing the acquisition of digital, home entertainment and theatrical rights to the upcoming series. The news comes with a newly released English-subtitled trailer.
Through a press release, GKIDS has acquired the theatrical, videogram (Blu-ray/DVD) and digital rights to Science SARU's highly anticipated anime series DAN DA DAN. This acquisition serves as GKIDS's first engagement with a first-run (newly released) series, following a history of licensing retrospective television series such as Neon Genesis Evangelion and multiple theatrical films such as The Boy and the Heron by Studio Ghibli. DAN DA DAN is becoming a highly sought after series, with both Crunchyroll and Netflix securing weekly streaming rights. The series is adapted from the manga of the same name by Yukinobu Tatsu, currently serialized on the Shonen Jump+ platform. Tatsu previously worked as an assistant to Tatsuki Fujimoto on Chainsaw Man and Yuji Kaku on Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku. He received praise for the manga's adorable cast and beautiful artwork.
