Nausicaa’s surprise appearance in the documentary pleased many longtime Ghibli fans, but it also left viewers wondering whether a sequel could be on the horizon. Although most people are more familiar with the film version of Nausicaa, the franchise actually began as a comic book series serialized weekly in Animage magazine from February 1982 to November. 3, 1994. Since the manga had many plot elements that were left out of the animated version, it makes sense that Miyazaki may be planning a sequel that continues the story outlined in the previous installment. . However, it’s also possible that Miyazaki is working on a manga supplement to Nausicaa or a spin-off based on its world and characters. Miyazaki does not state in the film whether the portraits are related to any future projects, animation or not.
Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind is a poignant cautionary tale about human arrogance and disregard for the natural world. Set in a post-apocalyptic version of Earth inhabited by giant insects, the story follows a young princess named Nausicaa, who sets out to stop another country from resurrecting a monstrous creature called is the “God Warrior” from the depths. While other parties believed that warriors were their only defense against the insects, Nausicaa called on them to live in harmony with nature rather than seek violent solutions.
