A special collaboration illustration by artist Yuuji Kaida has been released for the anime series Gamera: Rebirth. All six episodes of the series are now available on Netflix.
The illustrations showcase the titular Gamera in battle with six other kaiju beasts. Kaida is famous for his illustrations of Godzilla and other Toho-related kaiju monsters.

The production team includes Hiroyuki Seshita (Knights of Sidonia) as director, Kenta Ihara (Handyman Saitou in Another World) and Hiroshi Seko (Summer Time Rendering) as series writers, and Keisuke Ide (Levius) as assistant director. director, Atsushi Tamura (Weathering With You co-designer) is the character designer, Kouji (Knights of Sidonia) is the animation director, Takehiko Hoashi (Levius) is the mechanical designer and Kan Takahama is the next kaiju. ENGI is handling the animation production for the series.
The anime’s voice cast includes Hisako Kanemoto as Boko, Yoshitsugu Matsuoka as Joe, Aki Toyosaki as Junichi, Subaru Kimura as Brody, Mamoru Miyano as Tazaki, and Saori Hayami as Emiko.
The Gamera franchise first began with the 1965 tokusatsu film Gamera the Giant Monster. The film was produced by Daiei, which came under the Kadokawa Corporation’s management in 2002. After a name change and “renovation” in 2004 and merged with Kadokawa Shoten in 2011, Daiei separated from Kadokawa Shoten in 2013 and became Kadokawa Daiei Studio.

In the summer of 1989, Boko, Joe and Junichi, all sixth grade elementary school students, were on their last summer vacation. Each of them is worried about their future. Brody, the son of a US military commander, appears before the three and steals the money they saved together. Boko and his friends were furious and planned to get their money back. As they prepare to carry out their plan, the town is threatened. Kaiju Gyaos suddenly attacks Tokyo. The four were petrified in a town destroyed by Gyaos. As Gyaos laid eyes on them, a giant kaiju appeared. Its name is Gamera.
This is the beginning of their “Kaiju Summer”. Kaiju appear one after another and Gamera fights back despite his injuries. The boys witnessed the legend.
