After the first season of this epic sci-fi adventure was released on Netflix, season 2 has found a new home on the leading anime streaming platform where it is sure to be the highlight of the series. Edens Zero is a unique combination of sci-fi themes and other elements commonly found in Mashima’s works, such as magic and time travel. The main character is Shiki, a human boy who grew up on an amusement park planet named Granbell in a space region called Sakura Cosmos. Granbell is inhabited only by robots, and Shiki is raised by her “grandfather”, Ziggy, who turns out to be a legendary hero and adventurer known as the Demon King. After Ziggy’s death, Shiki inherited the Ether Gear, a mysterious power that allows him to control gravity and his spaceship, Edens Zero. To fully activate the ship and fulfill her dream of traveling outside the Sakura Cosmos to meet the wish-granting god, Mother Shiki must recruit the members of her grandfather’s former crew, the Four Shining Stars.
Edens Zero moves from Netflix to Crunchyroll with season 2
Season 1 of Edens Zero sees Shiki tracking down and recruiting the Shining Stars along with his other friends and teammates, content creator Rebecca Bluegarden and scientist Weisz Steiner. The crew of Edens Zero are now ready to embark on a dangerous journey to Mother, but many dangers and enemies await them in Season 2. At the time of this writing, the first two episodes of Edens Zero Season 2 has been released, introducing one of the main antagonists of the series, “Dark Alchemist” Drakken Joe, boss of the criminal underworld Sakura Cosmos. Joe is aiming for Edens Zero and its crew, having his eye on a precious power he wants to steal.
Fans of Fairy Tail and Rave Master may find the characters in this story very familiar. Mashima’s character design for Edens Zero borrowed from Fairy Tail just as the latter did from Rave Master. Shiki looks a lot like Natsu, Rebecca looks like Lucy, and Happy the cat appears with the same look and name as in Fairy Tail. The list goes on and Mashima’s passion for introducing different timelines and alternate universes in his stories creates an interesting sense that all of his characters and stories all exist in a common multiverse.
Edens Zero is perfect for Fairy Tail fans
Edens Zero will captivate viewers with its space adventures, high-energy battles, and countless mysteries waiting to be revealed. As he has demonstrated with his previous works, Mashima is a master at weaving intricate plots that can keep fans interested in the bottom line of the story. The Edens Zero anime, produced by JC Staff, has provided an honest, high-quality adaptation of the manga still being published by Kodansha. Now Part 2 of paradise garden zero has landed on Crunchyroll, both manga readers and anime-only fans who miss out on Fairy Tail have a great opportunity to follow this amazing series.
