Since its launch, Genshin Impact has become almost the best game in the open-world gacha genre to date, and at the same time opened a new trend. However, along with that is the appearance of countless new blockbusters and super products that are shaping up to be competitors of Genshin Impact. Wuthering Waves by Kuro Games has just been released as an example, and next, it will most likely be Neverness to Everness – a new game by Hotta Studio, the father of the Tower of Fantasy series that was very popular in the past.
Neverness to Everness is a free-to-play open-world anime game, and it's even affectionately called the anime version of GTA by many – a nickname that speaks volumes about the expectations of everyone. Unlike Genshin Impact, the game focuses more on modern gameplay, allowing players to drive through neon-lit streets. Although there is no official release date yet, as of now, Neverness to Everness has opened pre-registration and the next information about the game is expected to be available in September 2024. In addition, the game is also expected to launch on PC, mobile devices, PS5 and other gaming consoles completely free of charge.
Currently, Hotta Studio has not clarified whether Neverness to Everness is a gacha game or not. However, considering the game's character-based gameplay and the fact that it is a F2P anime game, the possibility of a gacha system is quite high. On July 16, the developer also released the game's first gameplay video, which received a lot of positive reactions thanks to its colorful world. Neverness to Everness has many characters, and they all have their own unique abilities, called Espers. According to the reveal, some characters can “use anti-gravity to climb tall buildings, while others can destroy the environment.”
As of writing, there are currently three characters announced for Neverness to Everness: Mint, Nanally, and Sakiri. Hopefully, when it launches, Neverness to Everness will be a worthy competitor to Genshin Impact, and gamers will have another blockbuster to experience.
