A viral Fortnite clip of Dragon Ball’s Vegeta tearing up a keyboard is proving extremely popular among anime fans, with the video recently going viral on social media.
X user @peridoxikal posted a clip of Dragon Ball character Vegeta appearing in Fortnite’s new Festival mode. If Vegeta hitting the notes in Lady Gaga’s “Bad Romance” wasn’t ‘bad’ enough, the clip also features ridiculous choreography as he pauses the keyboard to swing his hips and perform choreographed moves . With the caption “This is how a Saiyan truly shows his pride,” the clip garnered 1.4 million impressions and nearly 50 thousand likes. Some fans are unfamiliar with this very different side of Vegeta, but others think his history says otherwise.

The most common answer refers to Vegeta’s actions in Dragon Ball Z: Battle of Gods – the franchise’s return to the big animation stage after 17 years. When the main villain, Beerus, invaded Earth, Vegeta was forced to entertain him, leading to the famous Vegeta Bingo Dance, where fans witnessed a once-proud Saiyan fall in real time . The Fortnite Festival feature seen above launched on December 9, meaning fans wasted no time putting Vegeta in this dangerous situation. Fortnite Festival was created by Harmonix, the developers of Rock Band, and players have the option of playing guitar, bass, keytar, drums, or singing on a mic.
This latest Fortnite feature comes as the game looks to move to a live service model, regularly adding new games. With calls to revive games like Club Penguin and other kid-friendly titles growing, Fortnite clearly hopes to keep kids entertained through as many options as possible. This naturally makes audiences across all fandoms happy, and anime fans are no exception. Whether it’s a Japanese high school student recreating the movie Suzume in Fortnite, a new My Hero Academia skin, or a Jujutsu Kaisen collaboration, Fortnite’s anime influence is evident.
