Unfortunately, the way Super actually played out ruined what made the franchise’s original finale so special, in part because it robbed him of the ability to showcase one of Goku’s greatest qualities. In Super, Dende volunteers to help Goku find Android 17 for the Tournament of Power, and along the way, he decides to show the Saiyans a boy named Uub in chapter 31 of Dragon Ball Super by manga author Akira Toriyama and artist Toyotarou . Dende reveals that Uub is the human reincarnation of Buu and since he is a prodigy, Goku should train him.
Goku can no longer rely on his best qualities
This setup is contrary to what Goku said in the end of Dragon Ball Z. Goku only assumed that Uub was the reincarnation of Buu. He is somewhat convinced by the fact that Uub is Buu’s reverse name. This particular retcon is particularly annoying because it messes with the way the series originally ended before Super rebooted the series.
