In a post to X, formerly Twitter, Dragon Ball news reporter @DbsHype provides a description of Black Frieza translated from this month’s V Jump magazine, where Dragon Ball Super is serialized.
As the post introduced, Black Frieza’s new power level is close to that of the God of Destruction. One of the most powerful beings in the twelve known universes, the God of Destruction can obliterate life forms and planets with a snap of his fingers. If Black Frieza only possesses a portion of their powers, this explains why he was able to humiliate both Goku and Vegeta in their final appearances.
Frieza follows Goku’s example to become the strongest
Black Frieza first appeared in Dragon Ball Super Chapter #87, and to everyone’s surprise, destroyed Gas with a single blow. Up until that point, Gas was clearly the strongest warrior in the universe, even in his decayed state, due to his desire for the Dragon Balls. Frieza was absent from the story for a while, during which he did something he had never done before: actually train. Black Frieza’s form is the result of his efforts.
Thinking that they cannot defeat Gas, Goku and Vegeta are completely dumbfounded by Frieza’s massive increase in ability. Frieza explains that he borrowed a trick from his enemy’s book: he found the Chamber of Spirit and Time and spent the equivalent of ten years training in it. This makes a lot of sense because Frieza, a natural genius warrior, had never spent a day training in his life before meeting Goku. Even his first power in Dragon Ball Super, Golden Frieza, was the result of four months of regular training.
Black Frieza may be the strongest being in the universe
Considering the immense growth Frieza received in just four months, the natural consequence is that if he trained as much as the Saiyans, he would easily surpass them. However, although it is clear that Black Frieza is stronger than both Ultra Instinct Goku and Ultra Ego Vegeta, it is impossible to determine how powerful he is. Even Whis cannot determine whether he is now the strongest person in the universe or if there is someone else stronger..
This little tease from V Jump seems to imply that, at the very least, Frieza is closer to God of Destruction level than Goku and Vegeta. Considering he would be the villain in the long-awaited new installment of the series it makes sense. Super Dragon Ballif Black Frieza really close to the level of a God of Destruction like Beerus, the training that Goku and Vegeta are doing to fight him will have to really pay off if it hopes to stand a chance.
