Warning: Dragon Ball Super chapter 92Although some events don’t quite match up, Super Dragon Ball the manga just fixed up one of the worst scenes in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie. This latest change is definitely an improvement over the original’s embarrassing moment, but it’s still not as good as expected. While Dragon Ball Super also re-adjusts Beerus’ love preferences, this latest re-adjust is much more subtle.
After Piccolo told Bulma to bring Goku and Vegeta back to Earth, Bulma called Whis’ staff, but just as his staff started ringing like phones, an explosion from their ongoing fight Goku and Broly knock staff out of him in Dragon Ball Super Chapter 92 by mangaka Akira Toriyama, artist Toyotarou, translator Caleb Cook, and letter writer Brandon Bovia. As a result, Whis doesn’t get the message that Goku and Vegeta need to return to Earth.
Dragon Ball Super Retcons The Absence of Super Heroes Goku & Vegeta
As most fans who have seen Superheroes know, the fact that Whis didn’t take Bulma’s call means that the only people who can stop the ongoing threat to Earth are the heroes who have there, namely Piccolo and Gohan. This is essentially the story’s excuse for why Goku and Vegeta can’t take all the glory so Piccolo and Gohan can achieve their new forms. The difference is that, in the actual movie, an explosion from Goku and Vegeta’s fight – not between Goku and Broly – causes an empty ice cream can to hit Whis’ stick.
While the manga’s retcon isn’t as ludicrous or lazy as Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero’s original plot, it’s still far from the best it can be. Dragon Ball Super should have come up with a more compelling reason as to why Whis missed Bulma’s call, that reason could be related to a much larger event than just the aftermath of the war. going on between two Saiyans. While fans learned early on that the events of Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero were mainstream, the fact that the manga currently includes the events of the film makes this retcon disappointing. Whatever it may be, the film should have presented an inexplicable phenomenon as the reason the manga was able to expand later.
Dragon Ball Super’s Retcon Is A Symptom Of A Bigger Problem
A common criticism of Dragon Ball Super is that there are very few characters or events that go beyond an arc. Usually, a new story introduces something completely new that is unrelated to anything from earlier in the series. There are exceptions, of course, namely the Red Ribbon Army, appropriately, the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie revival. And before the movie Dragon Ball Super: Broly, the events in the manga and anime never existed in the same universe as the movie. Fortunately, Broly has fixed this and Super Hero is continuing that tradition, but the interconnectedness of the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movies and Super Dragon Ball manga could be a lot more complicated if it came up with something that could mean more than the aftermath of an ongoing war.
