Dragon Ball Super fans can soon see an exciting battle with Broly.
As detailed in ComicBook, a popular Dragon Ball news site called @DbsHype recently shared draft pages for Dragon Ball Super Chapter 93. These pages feature Goku fighting the iconic Saiyan mutant. icon, who returned to the franchise in the 2018 Dragon Ball Super movie: Broly. There, Broly went from being a tool of his evil father to Goku’s friend and battle partner. The Super draft suggests that Broly will have an intense fight scene in the upcoming chapters of the manga.
In December of last year, Dragon Ball Super kicked off its Super Heroes arc, which serves as both a prelude and extension to the events of the 2022 film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. Broly first appeared in Chapter 92, described as training with Goku and Vegeta on Beerus’ home planet, one of the few locations that can withstand Broly’s level of power. Unlike his fellow Saiyans, Broly often becomes blinded by anger during his battles. In Super Heroes, Broly tries to become a true warrior by controlling his anger once and for all. However, the draft pages show Broly fighting in a seemingly uncontrolled state, as one panel shows him clutching Goku and Vegeta’s heads in each hand.
Broly’s struggle to control his anger
Broly’s constant struggle against his rampage is also shown in Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. While the Saiyans were training on Beerus’ planet, Broly lost control during a practice match, prompting Goku and Vegeta to engage. Afterwards, the two Saiyans have a private practice session to show Broly how to fight properly. This scene is the only scene where he appears in the movie. His cameos are also often overshadowed by the fact that Vegeta actually defeated Goku in their match.
Broly made his franchise debut in the 1993 film Broly: The Legendary Super Saiyan. This movie establishes that Broly is a particularly rare type of Saiyan that only appears once in a thousand years. Broly’s father, Paragus, uses his son as part of a plot to get revenge on Vegeta for banishing them in the past. Paragus invites Vegeta to rule another planet he calls “New Planet Vegeta.” However, the Z-Fighters soon realize that the planet is not only ruined, but also has a slave force operating there. As they tried to free them, Broly appeared in his Super Saiyan Form and unleashed a series of devastating attacks. In the end, the group must work together to defeat the rogue Saiyan.
