Dragon Ball at the Olympics
Dragon Ball has made its way to the world's biggest sporting event: the Olympic Games. The French fencing team won the bronze medal in the group fencing event, and after winning a fierce battle against Egypt, they celebrated by emulating one of Goku's iconic and deadly techniques.
While the sports world is celebrating and focusing on the achievements of the French fencing team, anime fans in general and Dragon Ball fans in particular are excited to see the four fencing players perform the Kamehameha technique.
Bolade Apithy, Maxime Pianfetti, Sebastien Patrice, and Jean-Phillipe Patrice look at the audience and perform the entire sequence of techniques that Master Roshi taught Krillin and Goku.
This isn't the first time an athlete has shown a Dragon Ball obsession after a sporting achievement. However, when the French fencing team did it, it became legendary in the sport. Because it was done during the 2024 Olympic Games, which marks the 40th anniversary of the Dragon Ball franchise, it gives the Dragon Ball brand a special touch.
After San Diego Comic-Con 2024 passed, the Dragon Ball production team lifted the spirits of fans by revealing the official logo for Akira Toriyama's 40th Anniversary of the franchise, which will take place this November.
Dragon Ball 40th Anniversary Celebration
The official celebration of Dragon Ball's 40th anniversary will begin a month early, in October, with two franchise launches announced: the Dragon Ball Sparking! ZERO video game and the Dragon Ball Daima anime.
However, in addition to these two premieres, Bandai Namco and Toei Animation are preparing a series of activities to celebrate four decades of Dragon Ball, and commemorate the passing of the late author Akira Toriyama.
The 40th anniversary logo represents the most basic of Akira Toriyama's early illustrations of the series. It's like looking at the graphics of the first parts of the Dragon Ball series. Goku, Bulma, Krillin, or any of the other characters that were present from the beginning are not present.
The only thing that appears is Shenlong, the words Dragon Ball and the anniversary number in the signature orange and red.
