The anime is scheduled for release in fall 2024. Masako Nozawa will return to voice Son Goku.
Yoshitaka Yashima (animation director of Dragon Ball Super, Digimon series) and Aya Komaki (One) Piece series director, Marie & Gali episodes director) are serving as series directors, Katsuyoshi Nakatsuru (Dragon Ball Z, Digimon series) is adapting Akira Toriyama’s character designs into animation and Yuuko Kakihara (Digimon Adventure tri. movies, 2022 Urusei Yatsura, Cells at Work!) is supervising and writing the series . Franchise creator Akira Toriyama is credited as the story and character designer for the new anime.
In the series, Goku, Vegeta, Bulma and other characters in the series become younger than usual. However, this differs from the similar plot in the Dragon Ball GT anime, in which Goku returns to a child after the end of the original series. Although the title “Daima” has no meaning, the kanji can be understood as “Demon” in English.
The Dragon Ball Super anime television series premiered in July 2015 and aired 131 episodes until March 2018. Funimation and Crunchyroll streamed the series as it aired, and Funimation distributed the series this on home video. The animated film Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero opens in Japan in June 2022 and that August in the United States. Crunchyroll and Sony Pictures screened the film in theaters worldwide.
