Official website of Dr. STONE The anime has revealed that this is the fourth and final season, titled Dr. STONE: THE FUTURE OF SCIENCEscheduled to air in 2025.
The season will be split into three parts, marking the end of the science-based adventure that began in 2019.
Alongside this announcement, a teaser image was released, in which the main character, Senku, is looking up at the moon with a younger version of himself, accompanied by the phrase, “We're going to the moon, and we're going to do it quickly.”
The trailer hints at the upcoming challenges that Senku and his friends will face as they continue their journey in the Stone World, where humanity has been turned to stone.
Additionally, it was also revealed that as part of the celebrations for the anime's 5th anniversary, an exhibition of original artwork will be held.
The exhibition will begin in November 2024 in Yurakucho, Tokyo and will then tour other cities, including Hakata, Fukuoka and Namba, Osaka. More details will be shared on Dr. STONE social media channels
Dr. STONE based on the manga series written by Riichiro Inagaki and illustrated by Boichi, serialized in Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2017 to March 2022.
The manga series has surpassed 17 million copies in circulation.
Set in a world where humanity has been mysteriously petrified for thousands of years, the story follows genius scientist Senku as he revives civilization from scratch, using his scientific knowledge to recreate modern technology akin to the Stone Age world.
The anime adaptation has seen three successful seasons, with the first season airing from July to December 2019, the second season from January to March 2021, and the third season split into two parts airing in 2023.
