That game was the prologue to Paper Lily, pulling about four hours long. Starring protagonist Lacie, the story is a direct continuation of Project Kat, but developer Leef 6010 says you can get into Paper Lily without playing the prologue.
“Something terrible has happened. Thinking about it, you can’t bear it – but you can’t live like this anymore. You missed school, you haven’t left the house in months, you have no reason What to get out of bed? again. There are no more options,” the Steam description reads.
With its psychological horror theme, colorful anime pixel art aesthetic, and engaging, fourth-wall-breaking narrative, it’s hard not to be reminiscent of games like Doki Doki Cultural Club and Undertale, but There are also subtle traces of horror akin to The Ring and even Death Note.
Currently, Paper Lily is releasing the first chapter for free on Steam. Those who are interested can download and play now.
