Warning: SPOILERS for Chapter #96 of Dragon Ball Super Latest Chapter of Super Dragon Ball added details on Piccolo’s new and greatest power-up, an impressive transformation that debuted in the Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero movie, called small orangesbut fans are still debating whether the Namekian warrior really received God Ki from Shenron.
Chapter #96 of Dragon Ball Super continues the adaptation of the Superhero movie in the form of a comic book. During a fiery battle with the robot Gamma, Piccolo discovers that even his Potential Release form is not enough to defeat the Red Ribbon Army’s newest weapon. On the verge of defeat, Piccolo awakens the power Shenron has bestowed upon him as “a little extra” as he manifests what unlocks his hidden powers. This form, known as Orange Piccolo, is not fully explained in the film, but chapter #96 adds a scene in which Goten and Trunks have difficulty locating Piccolo based on ki, much to the dismay of fans. It is speculated that Orange Piccolo actually used God Ki, which is unlikely. perceived by mortals, but this may not be the case.
Goten And Trunks Can’t Identify Piccolo’s Ki In Dragon Ball Super
Initial fan reaction was based on a preview of the chapter shared by the official Dragon Ball website. However, reading the entire chapter, it’s unclear whether Goten and Trunks are unable to sense Piccolo’s energy because he now has a God Ki, or simply because the two young Saiyans have neglected their training, as Bulma seems to imply in that scene. Unfortunately, it’s still unclear which answer is correct, and fans seem to be dividing the two equally at the moment. While Bulma urges Goten and Trunks to neglect their training, the two Saiyans have shown some prowess in their prequel to the story of the Super Heroes and anyone who has seen the film knows that they will stand firm against Cell Max.
Indeed, recognizing ki is one of the most basic skills of a fighter in the Dragon Ball universe, to the point where 3-year-old Pan can easily recognize a Piccolo in disguise in chapter #94. Then it seemed like Goten and Trunks suddenly forgot how to do it, no matter how rusty they might be. Sure, Shenron giving someone God Ki, a power reserved only for the gods and some warriors who have reached the highest level (including Goku and Vegeta), seems a bit odd, given the Dragon Ball Z has determined that the dragon’s power is directly linked to the abilities of whoever created it, in this case Dende. However, Dende has also “upgraded” Shenron (a scene present in the movie Superhero but cut from the manga), so it is not clear what the ability and current limit of this dragon is.
Orange Piccolo With God Ki makes perfect feeling
One theory is that Shenron simply unlocked Piccolo’s access to God Ki, as part of the process of unleashing his latent potential. After all, Piccolo merged with Kami, a god and a special type of Namekian, which may explain his ability to use God Ki. In chapter #10 of Dragon Ball Super, while observing Piccolo’s battle against Frost, Angel Vados remarks that he is no ordinary Namekian, and that there is something different about him. This may be because the current Piccolo is a unique combination of a Warrior-type Namekian and a Dragon-type Namekian, having first absorbed the warrior Nails and then Kami.
Currently, there isn’t enough information to draw conclusions, and the scene featuring Goten, Trunks, and Bulma in chapter #96 could point in either direction. Hopefully with the Super Hero adaptation coming to an end, Toriyama or more likely Toyotarou will make an official statement about it. small oranges (and the upcoming Gohan Beast), explaining whether the Namekians really have God Ki in Super Dragon BallThis would explain his amazing newfound strength.
