Inosuke Hashibira, the untamable wildcard of Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, is brought to life in a new light.
A cosplayer named Shashy showed Instagram users her impressive rendition of the classic Demon Slayer character. She included a photo of herself standing in front of tall grass with the character’s iconic outfit – except for his boar mask – and his dangerous swords. One is placed on her shoulder, and the other is pointed towards the camera with an aggressive attitude, which perfectly captures the aggressive support player.
Detail of Inosuke’s gender swap cosplay
Shashy tries to capture a lot of the character’s details in this cosplay. First, she sported a dramatic animal skin finish on her pants, accurately replicating the original material. In addition, she uses wigs and makeup to fully show Inosuke’s hair and face in detail. This includes long black curls with blue tips and long eyelashes, which often leads him to be described as “feminine” or “pretty” in the anime. While the cosplayer doesn’t showcase the most famous item in the character’s wardrobe, his wild boar mask, the work still presents an accurate look at the character from the anime.
Inosuke is a demon hunter in the hit series, written by Koyoharu Gotogue and animated by Ufotable, who plays the opposite role of the main character. While Tanjiro is thoughtful, logical, and well-meaning, Inosuke is unpredictable, chaotic, overly violent, and always looking for battle. The character quickly became one of the most popular members of the group due to his superior energy, inability to pronounce Tanjiro’s name, impressive fighting skills, and more. Unfortunately for fans of the character, he didn’t appear much in the latest season of the show.
Demon Slayer’s currently broadcasting Swordsmith Village Arc
Demon Slayer is currently airing a third season, which includes the “Swordsmith Village” season. The next episode will be the final episode of the anime and will run as a 70-minute special episode. This story follows Tanjiro and Nezuko as they go to the famous village to get a new sword, only to find a demonic menace in town. They fought against the higher-ups with Genya Shinazugawa and two Hashira, Muichiro Tokito, Mistira Hashira and Mitsuri Kanroji, Love Hashira. The latest episode delves into her backstory, explaining the origins of her iconic green socks.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba’s anime is available to watch on Crunchyroll. Alternatively, the manga can be read in full on the Viz Media website with a Shonen Jump subscription.
