The first look at some of the new costumes of the characters in the latest version of the Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba stage play has now been revealed.
As of 2020, a year after the anime’s release, each season of the series has been adapted into a stage play, and many are looking forward to the premiere of the latest season that includes the Entertainment District Arc of the story. According to Mantanweb’s report, images of the main cast’s new costumes have been released. The Entertainment District arc is adapting the manga into an anime episode in 2021. The new images reveal Tanjiro, Inosuke, and Zenitsu’s kamuro outfits, as well as Nesuko’s demon form and Tengen’s casual outfit.
The Entertainment District arc follows protagonist Tanjiro Kamado – who is once again joined by his friends Inosuke, Zenitsu, and younger sister Nesuko – after the death of his teacher, Flame Hashira Rengoku. The group accompanies Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui, in investigating the disappearance of his three wives. This means that the three fledgling demon hunters must disguise themselves as women so as not to be noticed in the entertainment district. They soon discover a high-ranking demon, Daki, who terrorizes the locals, as well as her brother, Gyutaro, who protects her. The new images reveal Tanjiro, Inosuke and Zenitsu’s kamuro outfits, as well as Nesuko’s demon form and Tengen’s casual outfit.
Koyoharu Gotouge’s Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba manga has been a huge hit over the past few years. Since its initial release, it has sold over 150 million tankobon volumes and is the youngest manga series in the top 10 best-selling manga of all time. The anime series that premiered soon after proved to be equally successful, becoming one of the most popular anime globally. Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba the Movie: Mugen Train, the first animated film adapted from the series, has grossed more than $500 million worldwide and is one of the three best-selling films of 2020.
Previously, Mugen Train Arc was adapted to the stage and achieved much success. This story arc follows Tanjiro and crew as they board a train with the Flame Hashira, Rengoku, to defeat a powerful demon. Now, the Entertainment District Arc is set to take the stage with a cast that includes Shogo Sakamoto (Tanjiro), Karen Takahashi (Nezuko), Keisuke Ueda (Zenitsu), Yugo Sato (Inoskue) and Ryoshiro Tsuji (Tengen).
