Studio Shin-Ei Animation is working on a sequel with Hiroaki Akagi as director. Jukki Hanada wrote the script, Masato Katsumata designed the characters, and Kensuke Ushio composed the music. Hina Yomiya plays Anna Yamada and Shun Horie voices Kyotaro Ichikawa. Atarayo performed the opening song “Boku was…” and the ending song “Koishiteru Jibun sura Aiserun da” sung by Kohana Lam. The two theme song artists previously released an anime music video for their respective songs.
The anime is based on the manga written and illustrated by Norio Sakurai. The story began serialization in Weekly Shōnen Champion in March 2018. Seven Seas Entertainment is publishing the title in English.
HIDIVE and Bilibili are streaming the anime, and Bilibili describes the series as follows:
Kyoutaro Ichikawa may have the appearance of a typical middle school student, but his heart is filled with murderous fantasies. So it's not surprising that Anna Yamada, the class idol, is always on his mind as the person he wants to kill the most. He accidentally initiates a meeting with Yamada while reading alone in his favorite school library, and she shows up to secretly enjoy her favorite candies and sweets. Ichikawa learns how foolish Yamada is through their conversation and is forced to cheer her on from the sidelines. Yamada himself couldn't help but tease Ichikawa for his agitated reactions. The long-distance connection between the two becomes deeper than just library acquaintances as a result of many touching daily interactions. Ichikawa was finally able to understand that his violent fantasies had changed into something completely different.
