DAN DA DAN: The First Encounter tickets are now on sale ahead of their September 13-15 theatrical release in North America. GKIDS, the theatrical distributor of the first three episodes of the upcoming TV anime, has revealed a new trailer with English subtitles:
Science SARU is animating the Dan Da Dan (also known as Dandadan) film adaptation, with Fuga Yamashiro directing. The anime had its exclusive world premiere this July at Anime Expo.
Shion Wakayama and Natsuki Hanae will lead the cast as Momo and Ken. GKIDS describes the plot as follows:
DAN DA DAN follows Momo, a high school girl from a family of mediums, and her classmate Okarun, a paranormal freak. The two of them begin talking after Momo saves Okarun from being bullied. However, an argument ensues between them—Momo believes in ghosts but denies aliens, and Okarun believes in aliens but denies ghosts. In order to make the people who reject each other trust each other, Momo visits an abandoned hospital known for UFO sightings, and Okarun goes to a tunnel that is said to be haunted. At each place, they encounter paranormal activity that is overwhelming beyond their understanding. Amidst these difficult situations, Momo awakens her latent powers and Okarun gains the power of the curse to challenge the paranormal forces! Their fateful love also begins!?
The story of mystical battle and adolescence begins!
