Crunchyroll announced a number of new anime series they licensed at AnimeCentral today, spanning multiple genres and including some much-anticipated titles.
Summer of 2023 will see seven localized series in the coming months, including release dates extending through October. Perhaps the most anticipated on the list is the romantic comedy series Rent-A-Girlfriend, which is returning for a third season and has now been confirmed for release on Crunchyroll. Many of the series announced at AnimeCentral are more humorous in nature, including several isekai (anotherworldly reincarnation story).
Summer anime to look forward to 2023
Among the titles announced at AnimeCentral today are the romance series Horimiya: The Missing Pieces and Rent-A-Girlfriend season 3. Horimiya tells the story of the famous Hori and the sad Miyamura, who uncover hidden aspects. new sides of each other as their relationship deepens. The Isekai series includes the Great Priest, Am I Really the Strongest?, Will I Survive Using Potions!, and I’m In Love with the Villain, the latter of which witness Its hero gets caught up in an otome game (simulation of dating a female protagonist) who immediately deviates to pursue a relationship with the NPC villain. Finally, there’s MF Ghost, a more serious series set in the near future of 202X, where self-driving cars are commonplace and public roads are now used for racing. MF Ghost is set in the same world as the popular racing anime Initial D, and is based on the manga of the same name, which began in 2017 and is still ongoing.
While MF Ghost may be an odd genre, many fans of Initial D will no doubt be delighted to see its next animated series for the first time. Can fans expect Horimiya, The Great Cleric, Rent-A-Girlfriend, and Am I Really the Strongest? in July 2023, while I’m in Love with the Villainess is currently scheduled for October 2023. Specific dates were not provided for MF Ghost and I Shall Survive Using Potions!, instead! offers a timeframe of 2023 only. Most of these sets will be available through Crunchyroll worldwide, outside of Asia. The announcement doesn’t mention any dub plans for the series, but that information may simply not be ready for the public.
