Crunchyroll announced on Monday that it will stream the Sword Art Online 10th Anniversary event-FULLDIVE-for the Sword Art Online series on Tuesday in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, Middle East, Commonwealth of Independent States and India.
The 10th anniversary event of the franchise takes place on November 6, 2022 in Tokyo. The event features orchestra performances, animation, original creator Reki Kawahara’s story, etc.
Performers Eir Aoi, ASCA, Luna Haruna, and ReoNa, who sang the theme songs for the series, were present at the event. Together with FictionJunction, they performed the 10th anniversary theme song “Sо̄kyū no Fanfare” (Fanfare of the Blue Sky).
The original Sword Art Online anime premiered in July 2012. Sword Art Online II premiered in July 2014.
Sword Art Online: Alicization launched in Japan in October 2018 and is streaming on Crunchyroll, Hulu, and FunimationNow. Sword Art Online: Alicization-War of Underworld Part 2, “The Final Part” of the anime premiered in July 2020 and ended in September 2020.
Sword Art Online the Movie-Progressive-Aria of a Starless Night, the first anime film in the Sword Art Online the Movie-Progressive- anime series, opens in Japan in October 2021. Sword Art Online The Movie-Progressive : Scherzo of Deep Night, the second film, was scheduled to open in September 2022 but hit theaters in October 2022 after a period of delay.
The franchise is launching a “brand new original film project”.
