The Code Geass franchise began with 2006's Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, which ran from 2006 to 2008 for two seasons. Following the end of the original series, the franchise inspired several OVAs, a series of recaps with continuity differences, a sequel to the recaps titled Code Geass Lelouch of the Re ;surrection and the spin-off series Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. The franchise has also released light novels, comic books, and video games.
