The Code Geass franchise began with the anime television series Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, which aired from 2006 to 2008 for two seasons. Following the conclusion of the original series, the franchise inspired several OVAs, a recap series with different continuities, a sequel to the recaps titled Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and a spin-off series Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. The franchise has also inspired numerous light novels, manga, and video games.
