The Code Geass franchise began with Code Geass: Lelouch of the Rebellion, which aired from 2006 to 2008 for two seasons. Following the conclusion of the original series, the franchise inspired several OVAs, a recap series with different continuities, a sequel to the recaps titled Code Geass Lelouch of the Re;surrection, and a spin-off series Code Geass: Akito the Exiled. The franchise has also inspired numerous light novels, manga, and video games.

Hulu is streaming Code Geass: Rozé's Recapture and describes the story as follows:
In the seventh year of the Kowa Era, in the Hokkaido Block formerly occupied by the New Britannia Empire, mercenary brothers live known as the Nameless Mercenaries. The eldest, Ash, has excellent athletic ability and advanced Knightmare Frame piloting skills, while the youngest, Rozé, has a cool head and oversees intelligence gathering and strategy formulation.
Due to the impenetrable energy wall known as the Situmpe Wall, for four years, the 100th emperor who had been blocking the Black Knights' plan of liberation, Callis al Britannia, attempted to plunge the world into chaos once again with the help of his servant, Norland, and his Einberg Knights.
Upon receiving the request, Rozé and Ash join the resistance group Seven Shining Stars to confront the Empire to recapture Princess Sakuya.
