The pilot is streaming for the fighting entertainment story set in near-future Edo-era Tokyo
Japanese company CHOCOLATE Inc., (live-action film Monday/See You “This” Week!, Demon Slayer: Exhibition, Production and Promotion of Kimetsu no Yaiba's Total Concentration for the Dark Gathering anime) has launched plans to produce its first anime film, KILLTUBE, and it began airing a “pilot” on Monday. The company is targeting the 90-minute film for spring 2026, with plans for a worldwide release.

The pilot film video has the theme “Edo punk.” It depicts the Shibuya and Shinjuku districts of Tokyo in a parallel world, where the Edo Shogunate has occupied Japan for over four centuries until 2026. The entertaining fighting story unfolds as an unlikely trio from the lowest strata of society endure ridicule and aim for the top. As they win the hearts of the public, they discover the hidden truth behind the KILLTUBE system.
The team aimed to use 3D CG to depict the appearance of shin-hanga (Showa period woodblock prints) using vivid colors and different textures. CHOCOLATE Inc. is collaborating with emerging VFX studio KASSEN and concept artist group WACHAJACK on a budget of 1 billion yen (about 6.6 million USD).
