Chillin’in Another World with Super Cheat Level 2 was originally self-published on the Shosetsuka ni Narou website in 2016 before being acquired by Overlap the same year and published with illustrations by Katagiri. The series currently has 15 volumes and is licensed by J-Novel Club. Chillin’in Another World with Level 2 Super Cheat Powers has since spawned a manga adaptation featuring art by Akine Itomachi and licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment.
Akine Itomachi and Katagiri drew special illustrations to commemorate the anime announcing the series:
J-Novel Club describes the novel:
The Magical Kingdom of Klyrode summons hundreds of heroes from other worlds each year to fight in the war against the Darkness and his mighty army of demons. Banaza is one of those heroes, summoned from the Royal Capital Paluma, but something is wrong—Banaza is just an ordinary merchant. He has no magic, no fighting ability, and his stats are terrible. Worse yet, an accident prevents him from returning home! Rejected from becoming a hero and stranded in another world, abandoned in the far reaches of the kingdom by a cruel king who just wants him gone, Banaza’s fate looks rather bleak. But what happens when the failed hero candidate realizes he has super cheat powers when he reaches level two?
