The third season will premiere on NHK Educational on September 25. Each episode will be 5 minutes long. Natsuki Hanae and Yui Ishikawa return as cast members for the show’s various characters, and Erino Yumiki serves as narrator.
Rarecho (Aggretsuko) will once again direct the anime at Fanworks and will also once again write the script with Shigenori Tanabe (Obake Zukan). Masako Yasumoto returns to choreograph the dances.
The first anime debuted in October 2021 with 5-minute episodes. The second season premieres in September 2022.
The main characters in the anime are the scared but curious chicken Hone Chicken and the dancing frog Skip Gaeru, who travels by dancing.
The anime series marks the first time the San-X characters have had their own television anime. (The characters previously had movies and streaming anime.)
San-X’s characters inspired the stop-motion anime Rilakkuma and Kaoru on Netflix, as well as the animated film Sumikkogurashi – Good to be in the Corner. Fanworks are also produced. That film has a sequel opening in Japan in November 2021, with the third film opening on November 3.
