Fans should be careful not to fall for Makima’s seductive gaze in Chainsaw Man.
Set against a black background, fan artist @/suzuno_woto has illustrated Makima as she poses for a photo, highlighting her halo eyes. Artist fans used yellow tones to paint Makima, giving the impression that she came from an old era. Two transparent necklaces surround her, foreshadowing Makima’s true identity. Despite its simplicity, the fan artist perfectly captures the qualities that make Makima such a dangerous character.
The artist’s process of drawing Makima
Artist fans also posted an illustration process video showing how they started with a sketch of Makima’s eyes and body first. They then sketch the illustration in black ink before starting to create various shading and outlines, cleaning the artwork in the process. After doing so, the fan artist begins to color, starting with a slightly darker palette before refining all the details to create the final piece.
In Chainsaw Man, Makima is one of the first Demon Hunters Denji has ever met and the first to show concern and care for him, leading to him falling in love with her. Outwardly, Makima seems gentle, confident, and comfortable. At the same time, she evokes a rather unsettling aura, making people either love or fear her. Knowing that Denji has feelings for him, Makima purposely tasked him with hunting down the extremely powerful Gun Devil, offering him anything he wanted if he did.
