Chainsaw Man fans online were stunned by the uncanny resemblance between Kishibe and Mads Mikkelsen.
A recent post from the “Wattpad Tv-Anime” Facebook group features some side-by-side comparisons between Kishibe and the Danish actor, revealing striking similarities in facial structure and expression. As one concrete example of both actor and character being blindfolded in a side shot, it seems that Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto took direct inspiration from the image when he illustrated the panel that particular manga.
In the Chainsaw Man manga, Kishibe initially served as the Public Safety Demon Hunter for Task Force Tokyo 1. However, after the Special Team’s attack in the “Katana Man” section, Kishibe took over. position as the Captain of the Tokyo Special Team Unit 4. He also trains Denji and Power when they join the Demon Hunters. In terms of appearance, Kishibe is a bit gray, usually with a light beard. He also has a prominent scar that runs down his cheek from the edge of his mouth. Personality wise, Kishibe is usually quite strict but sometimes shows a more emotional side towards his two young patrons. Kenjiro Tsuda (Golden Kamuy, Lupine Third Seasons 5 & 6) voices Kishibe in MAPPA’s Chainsaw Man anime series.
Mads Mikkelson often portrays complex characters
Despite his resemblance to the unusual demon-hunting Kishibe, Mads Mikkelsen often plays villains rather than heroes. He is best known for his role as Hannibal Lecter in Bryan Fuller’s Hannibal television series, which aired 39 episodes from April 2013 to August 2015. He is also known for his role as Kaecilius in the 2016 film Doctor Strange and as Gellert Grindelwald , in the 2022 film, Fantastic Beasts: The Secrets of Dumbledore.
Weekly Shōnen Jump serialized the first installment of Fujimoto’s Chainsaw Man manga from December 2018 to December 2020. The online magazine, Shonen Jump+, began serializing the series’ second season in July 2018. 2022. The popular anime adaptation of MAPPA aired from October 2022 to December 2022. The series stars Kikunosuke Toya as Denji and Fairouz Ai (The Skeleton Knight in Another World) as Power. Ryu Nakayama is directing the anime, while Hiroshi Seko (Attack on Titan, Mob Psycho 100) is writing the script.
