Chainsaw Man Author Reveals His Favorite Anime of 2023
Chainsaw Man creator Tatsuki Fujimoto has revealed his surprising pick for favorite anime of 2023, along with his other top picks of the year.
The staff of the Chainsaw Man movie has not yet been announced and the movie’s plot is not for anime-only viewers. However, Fujimoto teased that the dynamic between the two main characters, Denji and Reze, was inspired by the popular Japanese action-horror anime Jin-Roh: The Wolf Brigade, which in turn was directed by Mamoru Oshii and Hiroyuki Okiura wrote and directed. It looks like Season 1 director Ryu Nakayama will not be returning after a social media post seemingly aimed at the culture of ‘harassment’ at MAPPA.
It is becoming increasingly common for anime to adapt sequels through theatrical release. Rascal Does Not Dream was recently released by Aniplex and Haikyu is coming soon!! The movie: The Decisive Battle at the Garbage Dump are notable examples of this. Most likely, this move was made to increase the commercial success of the series. While MAPPA CEO Manabu Otsuka declared that Chainsaw Man was a “complete financial success,” he lamented that it was not nearly as popular as Jujutsu Kaisen Part 1. That series continued to play. goes from strength to strength, with the Jujutsu Kaisen Part 2 Blu-ray disc selling far better than any similar Part 1 release.
