Warning: Contains spoilers for Chainsaw Man chap #176
Asa and the War DemonYoru, the main character of Chainsaw Man Part Two, while sharing the same body, has separate motives that coincidentally run parallel: Asa wants to save Denji, and Yoru wants to defeat the Chainsaw Man. However, the problem is Neither side has the catastrophic power necessary to do so.at least until the most recent chapter #176 of Chainsaw Man, titled “The Two Children.”
The only detail shared so far regarding their abilities is that anything Asa and Yoru consider to belong to them can be crafted into weapons, and the more sin involved in its creation, the stronger it will becomeThese rules are made evident when Asa turns her school uniform and apartment into swords, two of her most powerful weapons so far in the story.
However, in a flashback at the beginning of the new chapter, Yoru reveals that the weapon she needs to defeat Chainsaw Man will require more sins than creating those swords. As the focus returns to their current battle with Chainsaw Man's original form, she creates her ultimate weapon by sacrificing two of her most precious possessions, Her children: Tank Devils and Gun Devils.
Chainsaw Man's Asa is now powered by Gun & Tank Devils
In another twist, the War Demon is the mother of the terrifying Gun Demon.
There was a brief moment in the previous chapter of Chainsaw Man when Asa and Yoru seemed genuinely defeated, and not just in the context of their battle with Chainsaw Man, but on a fundamental level. The psycho roommates stood before their common enemy with no arms, no mouth, and is in serious danger of being completely wiped out of existence..
So Yoru does what she feels she must do to win, arming herself and Asa with, literally, her two children, Tank and Gun. This revelation Yoru is the mother of Gun Devilone of the main antagonists of Part One, shaking the foundations of Chainsaw Man, while also confirming several theories about the nature of the Four Horsemen demons.
Ever since Makima's introduction in Part One, the theme of abusive motherhood has been pervasive throughout her character development, and seems to continue much more openly in Yoru. By sacrificing her two children, she has turned them into weapons for her own selfish war, driven entirely by ego.
Obtaining these two weapons makes Asa and Yoru significantly stronger, and at the same time Trivializes much of Part One's conflict with the Gun Devil. A terrifying enough presence to fuel much of the Chainsaw Man's original storyline, its brief appearance had one of the best chapters of the series dedicated to it, now residing on Asa and Yoru's right arm. The left arm, holding the power of the Tank Devil, who has yet to appear in the story, but from its name sounds incredibly powerful.
Is Asa's power enough to defeat Chainsaw Man?
Pochita's true form is the devil that other devils fear the most. His most powerful ability goes against the very nature of existence, and perhaps more importantly, he is practically immortal. However, unlike other devils, Chainsaw Man has another concern that goes beyond his desire for power or fame, and that is Denji.. As seen in his battle with Makima in Part One, once he was in real danger, he shifted his focus to saving Denji instead of continuing to fight.
Now, armed with weapons powerful enough to threaten the Hell Hero, Asa and Yoru can use this weakness of Chainsaw Man to their advantage.. If Pochita is truly immortal, dealing physical damage may not be enough to ensure victory, no matter how powerful Asa and Yoru have just become. But if they can harm or incapacitate him in any way, Pochita will likely surrender to save Denji's life. After all, he sacrificed himself for Denji already. There's nothing to suggest he won't do so again.
While Pochita turned his attention to saving Denji during the fight with Makima, Power eventually convinced him to take back his body. Without her, it is unknown if Pochita would have been able to save Denji on his own.
Regardless of their plans, Asa and Yoru have just received their greatest power boost in the entire series. Once the underdogs in the battle against the demons, the duo now have the chance to turn the tide of battle. Fans can rest assured that the upcoming chapters will likely feature some of the most intense battles yet. Chainsaw Man The second part will provide the following information.
