Despite the huge success of Chainsaw Man’s first season making it a household name, MAPPA Studios has remained relatively quiet about updates on the show.
Between Jujutsu Kaisen’s second season and news of the studio’s mistreatment of animators, information surrounding Chainsaw Man’s second season is pretty sparse.
However, a rare update from the Chainsaw Man director has now left fans speculating about a second installment amid MAPPA’s troubles.

He continued, “It’s only the first year, so we will gradually build our platform and we will be able to release it soon.”
Nakayama did not directly address MAPPA or Chainsaw Man’s troubles, but many fans interpreted his update as such.
When asked directly by a commenter about his future with Chainsaw Man, he responded simply: “Sorry, I can’t tell you anything.”
Over the past month, MAPPA’s scandals have increased. The studio is balancing multiple major projects, which has affected Jujutsu Kaisen’s production.
MAPPA’s animators described a workload that exceeded standards, with artists describing JJK’s gruesome production schedule. However, the animators were reportedly not compensated for the extra work they were assigned.
And amid the studio’s troubles, they still haven’t given any updates on the second Chainsaw Man movie, let alone confirmed a sequel. For now, these vague studio updates are all we have to go on, but rest assured we’ll keep you updated on any further developments.
