Chainsaw Man Chapter 133 Summary
The previous chapter of Fujimoto’s beloved work ended with a strange moment when Denji jokingly proposed sex with Yoshida, shocking Chainsaw Man fans. This latest chapter — 133, “The Chainsaw Man’s Protest” — skips over the aftermath and opens up to Denji and Yoshida sitting in a cafe near a protest. This protest saw conflict between those who wanted Chainsaw Man to be brought down like the other demons and the Church of Chainsaw Man, who were staunchly supportive of him. Denji claims that he enjoys seeing people compete for him, to which Yoshida responds by discussing the Church’s dangerously growing power.
Yoshida then gave Denji an ultimatum, claiming that it would help prevent future riots from spreading. The choice is to never transform into Chainsaw Man again or execute Nayuta. Denji rejects both options, stating that he wants to keep Nayuta alive while also being able to become the Chainsaw Man. Nayuta then appears and reunites with Denji, who begins to take her home. Yoshida revealed that he had always intended to let them go but was unsure of Denji’s final decision, with the threat of Nayuta’s execution still remaining.
Chainsaw Man began serialization for Weekly Shōnen Jump in 2018, completing the first season, called the “Public Safety” story, in 2020. The series then paused before returning to Season 2, the story “Academy”, in 2022 for Shonen Jump +. Fujimoto’s manga has been hugely influential, being named part of the popular Shonen Dark Trio alongside Jujutsu Kaisen and Hell’s Paradise. However, there have been several failures in the anime adaptation, which is said to outsell the adult-only parody of the series in terms of Blu-ray sales.
Studio MAPPA’s cartoons are available to watch on Crunchyroll. The comic is available to read through the VIZ Media website.
