Chainsaw Man Chapter 128 Summary
Released on April 25, 2023, Chapter 128, titled “Main Course”, opens with Asa denouncing Denji as a scary person after he announces his surprising target to her. The two clearly have very different views on physical intimacy: Asa finds herself opposed by the very idea, while Denji finds it beautiful. However, he was unfortunately rudely awakened when Asa stated that no one would want to be intimate with “a guy with a chainsaw sticking out of his head.” The shock was big enough for Denji to send them both straight to the Underworld.
In the Underworld, the Fallen Demon ordered Denji to leave Asa, to which Denji responded with a determined sarcasm. Suddenly, a fake Chainsaw Man appeared and slashed the fallen demon. The fake Chainsaw Man could be an ally as he warned Denji that other demons in the Underworld would try to devour Asa. The chapter ends with a spoiler when the fake Chainsaw Man asks Denji to avoid the demons until sunrise.
Chainsaw Part 2
The second part of Chainsaw Man shifts the focus from Denji, the manga’s eponymous protagonist, to a high school girl named Asa Mitaka. Asa’s beginnings start off quite similar to Denji’s and is shown to be bloody when she signs a contract with the Demon of War shortly before her death. However, the Demon of War is not concerned with Asa’s health and is solely focused on her goal of defeating the Chainsaw Man.
Fujimoto’s manga has been adapted into an anime via MAPPA, and the anime is available to watch via Crunchyroll—Chapter 129 released on May 9.
