The anime Bye, Bye Earth is based on the 2000 novel of the same name written by Tow Ubukata and illustrated by Yoshitaka Amano. This adaptation is the first co-production between Crunchyroll, WOWOW and Sony Pictures Entertainment Japan. Crunchyroll describes the story: In a world of anthropomorphic animals, Belle Lablac is born the only human. Having no fangs, fur or scales, she is called “Faceless” and she lives a lonely life with no one else she can identify with. “I want to be a part of the world…” With desire in her heart, she decided to set out on a journey to find her roots, carrying with her Runding, a great sword as tall as her. She had no idea how many adversities were waiting for her along the way…
