The Burn THE WITCH prequel anime titled Burn THE WITCH #0.8 has revealed its final countdown image ahead of its global premiere today (December 29), as well as a quick recap video of the first anime. Studio Colorido previously revealed some illustrations ahead of the premiere on their X-files, and you can check out the final one below.

The new anime will adapt the prequel one-shot manga chapter 0.8. titled “Don’t Judge a Book by Its Cover,” was published four chapters in advance and then compiled with them in the first volume. It’s another work from BLEACH creator Tite Kubo, and is set in the same universe. Studio Colorido (Team Yamahitsuji) will produce the animation, with Tatsuro Kawano also returning to direct.
The anime series first premiered as a movie divided into 3 episodes on October 2, 2020. They are distributed on Amazon Prime Video and Hikari TV in Japan and worldwide on Crunchyroll (excluding one country number). It ends with the reveal of’Soul Society’s Western Branch’, confirming that Noel and Ninny are living in the same universe as Ichigo and co. NiL once again performed the theme song for the new anime titled “PROVE”.

BURN THE WITCH was first published as a one-volume manga in Weekly Shonen Jump in July 2018. It began weekly serialization on August 24 and spanned four chapters. Crunchyroll is streaming the anime and they describe the story:
Historically, 72% of deaths in London have been linked to dragons, magical creatures invisible to most people. Although most people did not know it, some people rose up against these dragons. Only residents of Reverse London who live on the hidden “reverse” side of London can see the dragons. The main characters of the story are the witch duo Noel Niihashi and Ninny Spangcole. They are protection agents for Wing Bind. Their mission is to protect and manage the dragons in London on behalf of the people.
