Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5 Episode 10 Summary: How were Dazai and Sigma able to escape the elevator?
Bungo Stray Dogs Season 5 Episode 10 Recap: How were Dazai and Sigma able to escape the elevator?
The episode begins with Aya Kōda and Bram Stoker at the top of a tall building. Bram Stoker asks Aya to be careful. Bram tells Aya that Fukuchi plans to keep him alive as bait. Fukuchi displayed him on a high tower so that Fukuchi could lure members of the Detective Agency to their deaths. Aya wonders why the vampire-controlled Akutagawa Ryūnosuke keeps her alive.
We then see Sigma and Dazai trapped in an elevator and Sigma thinks they can’t control gravity to escape the way Nakahara Chuuya can. Dazai suddenly noticed there was liquid on the elevator wall and told Sigma to get in the water. Suddenly, the elevator walls above the water began to explode. Sigma then realized that the walls were painted with transparent, flammable fuel.
If they raise their heads, they will burn to death, but if they stay in the water, they will drown. Dazai asks Sigma to use his pistol, but it doesn’t have much effect underwater. Suddenly, the fire went out on the surface. Sigma immediately tried to rise to the surface for air but was stopped by Dazai, who had a serious look on his face.
Dazai approached Sigma and told him not to go up. Sigma then realized that a fire in a confined room would quickly consume all available oxygen. If they tried to breathe that air, their blood would be deprived of oxygen and they would die after one breath. Sigma would definitely have died if Dazai hadn’t stopped him.
But not being able to raise their heads means they have no choice but to drown. Dazai then took Sigma’s gun and rushed to the surface. He shot into the vent, climbed up and started shooting at the vent. Suddenly a crack appeared on the elevator door. Dazai destroyed the wire controlling the door. Sigma opened the elevator door and both Dazai and Sigma could finally breathe freely.
But just when they thought their problems were over, a message appeared saying that an exception was detected in the protocol flood and a drop sequence began. The elevator suddenly started falling.
Dazai suddenly grabbed Sigma and told him that he promised that he would get Sigma out alive and threw Sigma out of the elevator. Dazai tells Sigma that it’s up to him now as he falls into the elevator.
The scene switches to Atsushi Nakajima, who runs while thinking that he doesn’t know what’s right anymore. After hearing the true goal of Decay of Angles, Atsushi Nakajima is conflicted about what he should do and thinks about his teacher Dazai, who can resolve his conflict.
Atsushi then exits the tunnel and sees Aya and Bram Stoker at the top of the building. He suddenly ran towards Aya to save her but Aya told her not to come because this was a trap. Atsushi then suddenly realized Akutagawa was behind him and was ready to attack.
The scene then switches again to Sigma, who seems hopeless. Sigma thought about running because it was never his fight anyway. Sigma then noticed a piece of paper stuck to his shoe and had words written on it in Russian.
Akutagawa attacks Atsushi
At the airport, Akutagawa begins to attack Atsushi. Atsushi was confused about what was going on here and tried to dodge Akutagawa’s attack. Atsushi attacks Akutagawa and finds Akutagawa not protecting him with his power. Atsushi then realizes that Akutagawa is under the influence of the Vampire, Bram Stoker’s abilities. Atsushi tells Akutagawa that he still wants answers about why Akutagawa saved him from Fukuchi.
Inside the European facility, Meursault Dazai is seriously injured from a fall. He broke his leg. Dazai then looked into the camera and asked Fyodor Dostoevsky to leave him in peace. Fyodor then orders the vampire-controlled Nakahara Chuuya to kill Dazai who is on the fourth floor. Suddenly, Sigma appeared behind Fyodor and shot him in one of his arms.
Sigma tells Fyodor to withdraw his order to attack Dazai. Sigma tells Fyodor that he will touch Fyodor and find out all his plans for the airport. Fyodor tells Sigma that it only took Dazai about ten minutes to manipulate Sigma. Fyodor explains that Sigma is not the type of person to normally take such risks.
When observing Dazai, Sigma is forced to realize that what he really needs is not a place Sigma can call “home”, but trust. In other words, Sigma thought he wanted to become a member of the Detective Agency. Sigma points the gun at Fyodor’s head and says that it may be true that he is being manipulated, but it is Dazai who must pay the price for it.
When customers raise money, the casino must reciprocate in kind! Sigma further tells Fyodor that in reality, Fyodor was the one who tried to manipulate Sigma. Fyodor tries to make Dazai suspicious and makes Sigma put down his gun, thus Dazai gains control of Sigma. Sigma then asks Fyodor about his special ability.
At the airport, Aya discovers that if the government does not deliver One Order to Fukuchi in five minutes, all the vampires will attack the entire world. Aya noticed that Bram Stoker knew about it. Bram tells Aya that Fukuchi used the Holy Sword and sent orders to the vampire while she was sleeping.
Aya then thinks that she needs to get the sword away from Bram. Bram tells Aya that it is impossible for her because the roots of the Holy Sword are too hard for her. Aya still tried to pull out the sword. We then see that Aya reminds Bram Stoker of his daughter.
