Hishio Itami draws the manga

The October issue of Kadokawa’s Comic Flapper magazine revealed on Tuesday that Hishio Itami will launch a manga adaptation of the manga. Bullbuster series in the magazine’s next issue on October 5. Film director Hiroyuki Nakao and PICS are credited for original work. The manga will have a color opening page.
The series began as a concept book released at Comic Market (Comiket) and COMITIA events. The book focuses on the concept of “This is an economically legitimate robot hero story.” The project’s staff included Nakao, manga creator Esaku Kubonouchi, science fiction writer Yūya Takashima and Illustrator Junji Okubo.
The project has an upcoming television anime that will premiere on October 4. In the anime’s story, a young engineer named Tetsurō Okino who developed the new Bullbuster robot is transferred to Hato Industries, a Company destroys harmful animals. There, the company and its president Kōji Tajima face a mysterious life form named “Kyojū”. As a small business that is always short of money, Hato always has to calculate all costs such as fuel and pilot labor. And of course, missing shots will not be accepted. The company is always caught between the ideal of destroying Kyōju and the realities of the economy.
Kadokawa has published two novels in the series. Nakao is credited as the author of the original work and Seiji Ebihara wrote the novel.
