The anime is based on the manga written by Muneyuki Kaneshiro and illustrated by Yusuke Nomura. Kodansha is publishing the manga in English, while Crunchyroll is streaming studio 8bit's anime. The story is about BLUE LOCK, a project to create an extremely selfish striker who will lead Japan to the World Cup championship.
