Bleach: The Thousand Years of Blood War is back after a week off for a recap (which turns out to be episode #21.5), and with it comes a return to the big war going on between the Sternritter and the surviving Soul Reapers. Here’s everything fans need to know to watch the episode as it airs.
When are Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War episodes released?
New episodes of Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War are streaming now on Hulu in the US and on Disney Plus in most other countries. These new episodes are released at 7:30 a.m. Pacific time and 10:30 a.m. Eastern time, with subtitles for episode number 22 released on Saturday, September 9, 2023. Episodes dubs are also released on Saturdays, however the dubs will be released on Saturdays. is currently about 3 weeks behind the subtitled version, meaning dubbed episode number 19 will be released on September 9, 2023. Of course, all episodes will be streamed indefinitely after release, so There’s no need to rush to watch it as soon as it comes out.
What happened in Bleach: The Thousand Years of Blood War Episode #21?
Episode #21 of Bleach: The Thousand Year Blood War sees Ichigo finally arrive on the battlefield, armed with a brand new Zanpakuto and some powerful new suits. Ichigo confronts the female Sternritter, who proves to be unsuitable for him. Ichigo also uses a new move, Getsuga Jujisho, which has already shown tremendous power. When other Sternritter like Bazz B appear, Renji, Rukia, and Byakuya come to help Ichigo so he can go off to fight Yhwach, but is stunned to see Uryu next to the enemy. Uryu and Yhwach ascend to heaven through the hole that Ichigo opened when he descended, leaving him speechless when Chad and Orihime arrive.
Bleach: The Thousand-Year Blood War Episode #22 The Call of the Zombies
Episode #22 is titled “March Out of the Zombies” and will apparently feature Ikkaku and Yumichika facing off against Giselle Gewelle, the Sternritter along with “Z” Schrift, the Zombie. However, Giselle may not be the only one packing zombie warriors, as Mayuri is once again up to her old crazy science tricks. Meanwhile, Ichigo will deal with the revelation of Uryu’s betrayal, as well as Yhwach’s ascent to the Soul King’s Palace. Can Squad Zero stop Yhwach from breaking in? Which fight will Ichigo have to prioritize? The stakes for Ichigo have never been higher and one wrong move could mean the end of Soul Society.
With only a few episodes left in this season, events are starting to speed up towards the end, which is sure to end in a dramatic way. It’s unclear exactly where this journey will go in the manga, but there are definitely some points that will make for great characters to come.
