The popular anime series Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War has a new official perfume collection based on five of its most popular characters, including main character and fan-favorite Ichigo Kurosaki.
Through the official X account (formerly Twitter) of Japanese brand Primaniacs, a new line of perfumes based on Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War is now available for pre-order ahead of its release in November 2024. Five versions will be released, each priced at 7,920 yen (US$55) and housed in stylish 30 ml bottles inspired by each character's Zanpakuto. The fragrances include Ichigo Kurosaki's citrus wood notes, Rukia Kuchiki's violet floral herbs notes, Uryu Ishida's white herbal notes Ozone, Renji Abarai's red spicy woody notes, and Byakuya Kuchiki's Ozone floral notes. Direct sales are limited to Japan, so interested fans will need to use trusted authorized shipping services when the fragrance launches on November 7. You can see images and more information below.
The new Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War fragrance looks as fresh as it smells
Each perfume has special cards that explain how the scent is associated with its respective character. For example, Ichigo's card highlights “the sharp spice acridity [that] blends with the freshness of orange. The slightly rough impression is quickly washed away by the unadulterated floral scent, which spreads with a refreshing sharpness. The intense scent of sandalwood, reminiscent of steel that remains undamaged no matter how many times it is struck, stands out strongly — A scent that celebrates courage, for a character who always looks forward.” The line also features iconic quotes from Bleach characters, such as Byakuya’s “What makes you think I’m acting like a Soul Reaper? I’ll kill you for aiming your blade at my pride” written on his bottle. This is a reference to his line when he defeats Zommari Rureaux in the “Hueco Mundo” arc. More character descriptions, as well as general pre-orders, are available on the official Primaniacs website.
The new Bleach collection follows the release of AMNIBUS' JoJo's Bizarre Adventure: Golden Wind perfume, which featured Giorno Giovanna, Bruno Bucciarati, Leone Abbacchio, Guido Mista, Narancia Ghirga, Pannacotta Fugo, and Trish Una, and shipped worldwide. Anime-inspired perfumes remain highly sought after by fans, with The Fabulous Shop's Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon Legendary Silver Crystal Perfume finally releasing in the United States this year, three years after its initial release in Hong Kong. Takara Tomy's Shinkalion Change the World manga also inspired a recent perfume line.
Fans can stream Bleach and its sequel Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War on Disney Plus and Hulu before returning in October. The official description for the series reads: “When a new enemy appears, Substitute Soul Reaper Ichigo Kurosaki will leap back into the battlefield with his Zanpakuto to help those in need.”
