Since its launch, Black Myth: Wukong seems to have been living in constant praise from gamers.
The game itself has proven to be a huge commercial success, attracting a large number of players and becoming popular all over the world. However, Black Myth: Wukong is clearly not close to perfection and over time, negative criticism towards this blockbuster is appearing more and more than before.
Specifically, the problem that gamers criticize the most is that the level design in Black Myth: Wukong is really problematic.
If the first two chapters were too good, leading players along the storyline with relatively challenging battles, then for many gamers, chapter 3 of the game is truly a disaster. The most frustrating thing for many gamers is when they face Pagoda Prison, when players will consume a lot of blood during the conquest, and at the same time, this area always has rocks that make it easy for gamers to slip and “lose incense” as well as cause difficulties in moving. Many people even assert that the following chapters of Black Myth: Wukong will be the main reason why it will be difficult for it to win the Game of the Year award this year.
In addition, the game's frequent appearance of invisible walls, preventing players from exploring the world, is also being heavily criticized. There have also been proposals to solve this problem, such as creating some maps, helping players not only avoid getting lost but also enjoy the feeling of discovery as the developer GameScience intended for their blockbuster. In addition, from chapter 3 onwards, Black Myth: Wukong has many problems and is even considered a “downgraded” version compared to the first two chapters, gamers are increasingly reviewing this blockbuster negatively.
Of course, GameScience should be forgiven for this being the developer's first game. And the lessons learned from Black Myth: Wukong this time can absolutely be improved in future products, or at least its new DLCs.
