My Hero Academy fans may be familiar with the fact that the original ending for the action superhero was ultimately used in the Heroes Rising movie in favor of something the mangaka believed was more appropriate, but Black clover is showing what a similar development would look like.
At the end of Heroes Rising, Deku transfers the power of One For All to Bakugo in such a way that when they both momentarily possess it during the transformation, they both use All Might’s power to overwhelm their enemies. As a result, Bakugo becomes One For All’s successor while Deku once again lives a normal life. In a groundbreaking interview in Newtype magazine, Heroes Rising director Kenji Nagasaki revealed that Horikoshi originally intended to end his manga this way but allowed him to use it in Heroes Rising because Horikoshi came up with a better ending.
Black Clover’s My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising Ends Sooner
While fans would never have seen My Hero Academia end this way in canon, Black Clover recently went in a similar direction in its final season before the series moved from Shonen Jump to Jump GIGA. In chapter 367 of Yuki Tabata’s Black Clover, Asta learns that he can give people Anti-Magic properties by allowing that energy inside him to flow into them and does this to his friends. his companion in the Black Bulls. Asta is encouraged to pursue this particular tactic because Anti-Magic is the most effective weapon against the current big bad, Lucius Zogratis.
Besides the obvious similarities of a hero sharing his powers with a friend or ally, Black Clover differs in important ways. The obvious difference is that Heroes Rising’s transfer of power takes place in the final moments of the previous battle and has only one recipient. Black Clover’s alternation occurred before a major battle began and affected the Class 1-A version of My Hero Academia. This in turn helps Black Clover’s Black Bulls become more relevant in a fight that initially rendered them meaningless while giving them more time to shine. Obviously, My Hero Academia’s Class 1-A will benefit greatly from that honor. The possibility of Anti-Magic being able to enhance each Black Bull member’s magic is promising and could be satisfying given how the magical powers of some Black Bulls have evolved in interesting ways, especially transformations. by Charmy.
Black Clover can turn Deku’s situation around in My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising
On a similar note, the fact that the Black Bulls are now imbued with Anti-Magic Potion presents some morbid implications that mirror Deku’s experience at the end of Heroes Rising. Much like how Deku lost One For All when he passed his powers to Bakugo, Asta was able to remove each Black Bull member’s magical powers that he bestowed upon Anti-Magic. Such a development would be a bittersweet ending like the one the original My Hero Academia would have had. The Black Bulls were the first magicians to accept Asta for his lack of magic, and now their kindness will be rewarded by losing their own powers to help him fight against Lucius. It would also be ironic since the Black Bulls’ magical abilities finally received recognition and respect after years of being ridiculed only to lose them.
Furthermore, Asta will certainly feel responsible and guilty for playing a key role in causing his friends to lose their magic. This is much different from Deku, whose decisions only negatively affect himself. Anyway, these latest developments in Black clover shows how effective it is My Hero Academythe ending could have been in the manga if Horikoshi had not changed his mind.
My Hero Academy available through Viz Media and Black clover is continuing in Jump GIGA.
