Fans of BL romantic comedy Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! Syundei has reason to celebrate as a television anime adaptation of the manga has been officially announced for August 16, 2024.
A new teaser visual and website for the anime were released alongside the announcement.
The image features Hirose, one of the main characters, standing in front of a cup of cream soda, surrounded by chibi characters depicted enjoying their time.
While further details regarding the cast and airing schedule have yet to be revealed, official information on the anime adaptation website has hinted at Aniplex's involvement in the production, as the studio is listed in the footer of the website.
Syundei also released a commemorative illustration on Account X following the anime adaptation, urging fans to look forward to the appearance of the main characters, Nakamura and Hirose.
Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!a popular yaoi/BL manga, tells the story of Nakamura Okuto, a shy high school boy caught up in wild fantasies and mishaps as he confronts his unrequited love for his classmate, Hirose Aiki.
The series is known for its retro art style, reminiscent of the 80s and 90s. The official website describes the series as follows:
“What should I do, I love him, I love him so much…! Nakamura Okuto, the main character, is a normal, shy high school boy. Having no friends, he meets his classmate, Hirose Aiki. What is this feeling…? Even though they aren’t even friends yet, Nakamura’s heart still beats fast every day when he sees Hirose!!
Original series, along with sequel Motto Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!!serialized in OPERA (Akaneshinsha) from 2014 to 2021.
Ganbare! Nakamura-kun!! has been picked up by Seven Seas Entertainment for an English release under the title Go For It, Nakamura!
To coincide with the anime announcement, new film editions of episodes 1 and 2 were also released on August 16, 2024.
