Berserk Volume 42 Cover and Release Date Announced by Dark Horse Comics
Episode 42 begins after Schierke and Farnese's battle to explore Casca's mental state following Doom's transformation. Dark Horse provides the official description: “Griffith's shocking appearance on Elf Island has unleashed rage and terror in Guts and Casca, and created a rift in the enchanted island itself, unleashing a horde of flesh-eating monsters from beneath the ground! If the Black Swordsman cannot rely on even his legendary sword, then escape by ship seems to be his only hope of survival… but not everyone leaves Elf Island together!”
The volume is now available for pre-order at Amazon, Barnes and Noble, and other bookstores. In addition to Berserk Volume 42, Dark Horse Comics has revealed release dates for the upcoming Afrofuturism series Imbokodo and Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures Phase III–The Wedding Spectacular One-Shot on November 13 and December 18, 2024, respectively.
Kentaro Miura's Berserk remains the best-selling work in the US
The final volume of Berserk was released in November 2022, marking one of the series' biggest gaps in nearly a decade. The manga had been on a hiatus following the departure of Kentaro Miura and the final decision to continue the series. Mori of Studio Gaga spoke in an interview last year about the pressure that came with it, but said, “I thought Miura would be angry that I wasn't doing anything, so I made the decision.” Still, Berserk remains a phenomenal bestseller in the United States, regularly topping The New York Times' list of graphic novels and manga.
Rage
Guts, a wandering mercenary, joins the Band of the Hawk after being defeated in a duel by Griffith, the group's leader and founder. Together, they dominate every battle, but something sinister lurks in the shadows.
