In an exciting treat for fans of the Honkai: Star Rail universe, miHoYo’s animation arm, HoYoverse, has announced an exciting new anime short titled “Ichor of Two Dragons.” This engaging short film focuses on the character Dan Heng and gives enthusiasts a fascinating look at the latest narrative developments in the game.
The story opens with Dan Heng’s deep reflections on his previous life as Dan Phong, a formidable Vidyadhara. Viewers are taken into a cherished memory where Dan Feng, along with Yinxing, Imbibitor Lunae Dan Feng, Baiheng and Jingliu, share moments of camaraderie and joy.
However, Dan Feng’s past greatness was ruined by the corrupting influence of power, eventually turning him into a tyrant. His retribution came in the form of a reincarnation molt, which resulted in his reincarnation as Dan Heng. This new existence was marked by imprisonment and exile from the kingdom of XIanzhou. However, Dan Heng remains firmly determined to escape the cycle of violence and create a brighter future for himself and the world.

The anime short vividly depicts Dan Heng’s inner turmoil when faced with his old self, Dan Feng. The conflict between the two is realized with breathtaking animation and stunning visuals, creating an epic and emotional showdown.
“Ichor of Two Dragons” was created by miHoYo Anime in collaboration with Fantasier Animation and Red Dog Culture House. This isn’t HoYoverse’s first foray into anime; they previously delighted fans with animated shorts for Honkai Impact 3rd and Genshin Impact. Interestingly, Genshin Impact is also set to receive a full anime adaptation by famous Japanese animation studio Ufotable, famous for hits like Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba and Fate/stay night : Unlimited Blade Works.
As the anime short unfolds, it promises to deepen the lore of Honkai: Star Rail and leave fans eagerly anticipating what lies ahead in this captivating universe.
